Physical and chemical properties:
It is a colorless, transparent liquid with a foul odor. It is a strongly alkaline liquid and can be used as a raw material for pesticides, medicines, and dye intermediates, and as an antidote for hydrogen sulfide poisoning.
First aid measures:
Skin contact: Take off contaminated clothing immediately and rinse with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Eye contact: Immediately lift the eyelids and rinse with plenty of running water for at least 15 minutes, and seek medical attention. Inhalation: Quickly leave the scene to a place with fresh air. Keep the airway open. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If breathing stops, immediately perform artificial respiration and seek medical attention.
Ingestion: rinse mouth with water, give milk or egg white, seek medical attention
Properties: Liquid strong alkaline solution, with foul odor, easily soluble in water. When it meets acid or absorbs carbon dioxide in the air, it decomposes into methyl mercaptan gas, which is flammable, explosive and toxic.
Uses: Raw materials for pesticides such as simethoprim and methomyl and organic intermediates; food additives such as methionine, vitamin U, raw materials for rubber vulcanizers, coal gas, and natural gas odorizers.
Storage and transportation: airtight, fireproof, sunproof, anti-toxic, not mixed with acid
